Police recover £209k of cocaine in traffic stop on A90 between Dundee and Perth

Tayside Police have recovered cocaine worth £209k during a traffic stop on the A90 between Dundee and Perth.

A police vehicle was damaged in the planned operation near Inchture early on Thursday afternoon.

Officers seized a quantity of drugs from the vehicle on the east bound carriageway then went on to raid the 51-year-old driver’s home.

They found a further quantity of cocaine at the address.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told Dundee Live this morning: “Officers carried out a planned stop of a vehicle on the A90 near Inchture at around 12.50pm on Thursday.

“Cocaine was recovered from the vehicle with a further quantity also retrieved from the driver’s address.

“A total of £209,000 worth of cocaine was recovered.

“A 51-year-old man was arrested in connection and is due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Friday.”
