POLICE raided two properties at Lake Macquarie yesterday, arresting one man and allegedly uncovering items stolen from storage units during a break-in.
A 39-year-old man was arrested at a Dora Creek home on Wednesday after officers homed in on him during their investigations just after midday.
A resident nearby the Gardiner Street home told the Newcastle Herald multiple police vehicles, including a van and detectives, were at the scene and bags of evidence appeared to be collected.
Lake Macquarie police said items connected with a business break-in at Morisset overnight on September 25, which saw 12 storage units broken into, were discovered when officers searched the property.
Police allege items stolen during break-and-enter offences in Cooranbong, Fassifern and Budgewoi were also recovered.
A second raid was carried out at a Belmont property, where police said a stolen Polaris bike was found.
The 39-year-old man was arrested at Dora Creek and taken to the police station, where the charging process took several hours.
He faces one count of remaining in a building with intent, one of recklessly dealing with the proceeds of crime, and four of possessing a prohibited drug.
He spent the night behind bars before facing Toronto Local Court for the first time on Friday.
Police said he was granted conditional bail at that time to appear before the court again later this month.
