A WOMAN has been rushed to hospital after "falling onto the railway tracks" at a busy train station.
Police were called to Merryton station in Larkhall at around 8.40pm on Thursday, December 12, after being alerted to the incident.
Officers received reports a person had fallen onto the tracks in the area. Emergency crews rushed to the scene. After that, the woman was taken to hospital for treatment.
Medics have since revealed her injuries are not considered to be life-threatening or life-changing.
During the incident, ScotRail said disruption was expected between Merryton and Larkhall.
A spokesperson for the BTP said: “Officers were called to Merryton railway station at around 8.40pm yesterday (December 12) following reports that a person had fallen onto the tracks.
"Officers attended and a woman was taken to hospital with injuries that are not considered to be life-threatening or life-changing.”
