Police have been called to deal with an ongoing ‘incident’ at a train station in West Lothian.
ScotRail is warning commuters to expect delays on the busy line after both platforms at Uphall station were locked down by officers shortly before 5pm on Friday.
The rail operator tweeted: “Due to the police dealing with an incident at Uphall station, our services between Bathgate and Edinburgh will be delayed or revised.”
In a separate message, they added: “Both platforms have been closed at Uphall station while we support the emergency services.
“Due to this, services will bypass Uphall until further notice.”
The exact nature of the incident is not currently known.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Uphall station at 4.16pm on 11 March following reports that a woman had been assaulted.
"She was taken to hospital where she received treatment for injuries which thankfully were neither life-threatening or changing.
"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and any witnesses who haven’t already spoken to police can contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting ref 427 of 11/03/22."
