Police pull over driver after being caught on A96 with cracked windscreen

Officers in the Highlands have pulled over a driver who was using their car with a shattered windscreen.

Posting the image on social media, Police Scotland road traffic officers wrote that a 51-year-old driver had been caught in Nairn on Wednesday night, driving in the damaged car.

The driver told officers they were "still able to see", despite the majority of the windscreen being covered in cracks.

In a statement, a Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.50pm on Wednesday, 8 June, road policing officers on routine patrol stopped a car on the A96 and Forrest Road, Nairn.

"The windscreen of the car was damaged and a 51-year-old man was issued with a fixed penalty notice."
