Police probe underway after Seaham Wetherspoons pub targeted in burglary

Police have confirmed that a Wetherspoons in Seaham was broken into in the early hours of Monday morning.

Officers responded to reports of a burglary at the Hat and Feathers pub on Church Street just after 5.30am.

An enquiry into the incident is ongoing.

A spokeswoman for Durham Constabulary said: 'Police were called to reports of a burglary at the Hat and Feathers on Church Street, Seaham shortly after 5.30am this morning (January 24).'

'It is not yet known if anything has been taken.'

'Enquiries are currently ongoing.'

A spokesman for Wetherspoons confirmed that the pub sustained damage to the doors but nothing was stolen.
