A teenage TikToker known for online 'prank' clips has been arrested, following an investigation into a viral video of him allegedly entering a family's home.
An 18-year-old was quickly identified and detained last night (May 22) following an investigation into the footage - which was uploaded and captioned "Walking into random houses".
The scene itself shows two young men approach and enter a home in Hackney, East London - while the distressed owners tell them to leave immediately.
The Mirror reports that the person filming the video can be seen walking through a front garden and into the home via the front door, as an alarmed woman questions his motives. She can then be heard screaming for her partner who attempts to get the two intruders to depart, citing: "We've got kids."
The man filming also clips himself briefly taking a seat on the living room sofa before finally leaving the premises.
Scotland Yard previously detailed how the content could amount to a breach of a Community Protection Notice, which was imposed following prior videos posted on social media. The footage and behaviour depicted is said to have caused 'widespread upset, distress and concern' in the community of Stoke Newington.
Detective Chief Superintendent James Conway of the Central East Command Unit, which is responsible for policing in Hackney and Tower Hamlets, said: “I do not underestimate the widespread upset, distress and concern that these videos caused.
“Some people have referred to these as ‘prank’ videos, but I hope that this significant development demonstrates just how seriously we have been taking this investigation since this footage began circulating online.
“A number of these videos were produced, impacting on many different people and our investigation remains ongoing as we seek to build a strong picture of both the activity featured in the footage and impact on the public.”.
