A patrol spotted the stolen Holden Cruze at suburban Blair Athol just after 1am on Saturday.

But as police tried to stop the car, they say it sped off sparking the pursuit that ended in a dead-end street in nearby Enfield.

Police allege the driver of the Holden then deliberately reversed into the patrol car twice before driving off.

The stolen car was later founded abandoned with a search continuing for the driver.
