THE Metropolitan Police have opened an investigation into a suspended Reform UK MP accused of making threats against a senior party officer bearer.
Rupert Lowe was reported to the police after allegedly threatening Reform chair Zia Yusuf, which the MP denies.
The Great Yarmouth MP has been stripped of the party whip over a series of allegations against him, including claims he bullied two female members of staff, which are being investigated by a KC brought in by Reform.
A spokesperson for the Met said officers had launched a probe “into an allegation of a series of verbal threats made by a 67-year-old man”.

They added: “Our original statement referred to alleged threats made in December 2024. We would like to clarify that when this matter was reported to us it referred to a series of alleged threats made between December 2024 and February 2025.
“Further enquiries are ongoing at this stage.”
Lowe has denied all allegations made against him, saying they are intended to discredit him because he was seen as a threat to party leader Nigel Farage’s authority.
A fierce war of words broke out between the two men when Lowe accused Farage of acting like “the messiah”.
Ben Habib, Reform’s former deputy leader ousted during a drive to “professionalise” the party, has also claimed that gaining Elon Musk’s backing, after the tech billionaire fell out with Farage for failing to back far-right thug Tommy Robinson, had “put a target on his [Lowe's] back”.
