Nottinghamshire Police have issued an appeal to the public for help in tracing the whereabouts of a 52-year-old man known as Philip Firman, who has been reported as missing.

In a bulletin posted on Facebook late on Saturday night, police asked: "Have you seen 52-year-old Philip? Officers are concerned for his safety after he was reported missing from the St. Ann's area on (Saturday) 24th September.

"Philip is described as of large build, 5ft 7in, with a bald head and grey facial hair. Philip was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, black bomber jacket, blue jeans and black boots. Philip also wears glasses and has a tattoo under his right eye.

"If you have seen Philip or know where he might be, please call us on 101, quoting incident number 356 of 24/09/2022. You can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."

According to the charity Missing People , somebody is reported missing every 90 seconds in the UK, equating to a total of 170,000 people. Of that number, more than 70,000 are children and almost 98,000 are adults.

The charity also states that 80 per cent of children are found within the first 24 hours of being reported missing and 90 per cent are found within two days, while two per cent are not found in the first week. For adults, the respective figures are 75 per cent, 85 per cent and five per cent.
