A man has been arrested for allegedly driving off during a random breath test in Adelaide's west, injuring a police officer.
SA Police said the Woodville West man, 46, was pulled over at an RBT on Elaine Avenue at Seaton about 5:15pm on Anzac Day.
Police said the car had been stopped only for a short time when the man at the wheel allegedly started to drive off, prompting the officer to reach through the window "in an attempt to stop the vehicle from leaving".
However, police said, the driver then closed the window, trapping the officer's arm.
"The car moved off and the officer was swung from the car," police said.
After receiving treatment at the scene, the police officer was taken to hospital with a broken leg and other non-life-threatening injuries.
Police had released an image of the Holden Captiva, that was allegedly last seen heading west on Elaine Street.
The man was charged with endangering life, causing harm by dangerous driving and failing to answer questions.
He will face the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
Rider arrested for drink driving at Torrensville
Meanwhile, police arrested a motorbike rider for allegedly drink driving in Adelaide's western suburbs and assaulting emergency service workers.
SA Police said they were called to Henley Beach Road, Torrensville, to reports that a motorbike rider had crashed into a wheelie bin after leaving a hotel.
Officers found the Henley Beach man, 27, however he attempted to run from the scene, police said.
He was arrested and returned a blood alcohol test result of 0.250 — five times the legal limit.
The rider was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital as a precaution, but allegedly kicked and assaulted an ambulance and police officer.
Police then charged the man with driving without due care, failing to submit to a breath test, riding an unregistered and uninsured motorbike and assaulting an emergency worker.
His bike was impounded for 28 days and he lost his licence for 12 months.
He will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates court on Thursday.
