A man suspected of owning a gun that was found hidden underneath a mattress was today named by police.
Police and forensics discovered the five shot revolver under a mattress in the garage of a house in Liverpool during a raid on Saturday, February 5.
Merseyside Police today confirmed a man from Knotty Ash has been charged in connection with the raid.

Paul Hobbs, 21, of Newenham Crescent, Knotty Ash, was charged with possession of a firearm.
Hobbs appeared at Wirral Adult Remand Court on Sunday 6 February and was remanded into custody.
He will appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday 7 March 2022.
A police spokesperson said: "A man from Liverpool has been charged with being in possession of a firearm after a revolver was seized by police during a warrant at a house in Liverpool.
"Paul Hobbs, aged 21 of Newenham Crescent, Liverpool has been charged with possession of a firearm after officers recovered a five shot revolver under a mattress in the garage of an address in Liverpool on Saturday 5 February.
"The firearm was made safe by officers and forensically recovered.
"Hobbs appeared at Wirral Adult Remand Court on Sunday 6 February and was remanded into custody. He will appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday 7 March 2022."
