Police name Corey Duffy who had links to Nottinghamshire and died in Derby stabbing

Police have named a man with links to Nottinghamshire who died in a Derby city centre stabbing. Corey Duffy, aged 30, was fatally stabbed. And his death triggered a Derbyshire Police murder investigation.

Corey lived in Derby but had links to Nottinghamshire, police confirmed. His family are being supported by specialist liaison officers and have asked for the media to respect their privacy at this time.

Emergency services were called to Bass Street just after 3.45pm on Sunday (June 11), where Corey died despite attempts to save him. Windmill Hill Lane was closed between Cross Street and Bass Street, with Bass Street shut between Windmill Hill Lane and Peel Street.

Poll: Is the government doing enough to help with the cost of living?

Detectives continue to appeal for anyone with information to come forward. Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Maria Pleace, said: “We have a team of officers who are continuing to work hard to investigate the circumstances of Corey’s death and we are following a number of lines of enquiry.

“We would still like to hear from anyone who hasn’t yet come forward and may have information which could help the investigation; it doesn’t matter how small you think that information is, it could provide the missing piece.”

People are asked to submit information to the force's investigation team here: Public Portal (mipp.police.uk). Police can also be contacted on 101, quoting the reference 23000357005:.

Officers can also be contacted via the official Derbyshire Constabulary website, Facebook and Twitter accounts. Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
