Police make arrest after 61-year-old killed in hit and run on busy Scottish road

A MAN has been arrested after a fatal hit and run on a busy Scottish road.

A 61-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene after being found on the A90 Queensferry Road, in Edinburgh, at around 11.15pm on Tuesday, April 8.

The man, who has not been named, was riding a Kawasaki KLE650 motorcycle.

Officers put out an appeal for information to trace the unknown car involved, which left the scene before they arrived.

On Thursday morning, police said that the vehicle had been traced and an arrest made.

Officers said a 31-year-old man had been arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences, but that further enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.

Sergeant Paul Ewing said: “We would like to thank the public for their assistance with our investigation and our thoughts remain with the family of the man who died.

“Anyone with any further information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 4274 of 8 April, 2025.”
