Cops have locked down a quiet residential street in Ayr after the sudden death of a man.
Emergency services raced to the scene near Finlas Avenue to attend an 'incident' around 5.15am this morning.
Police remain at the scene on Linfern Place adjacent to Finlas Avenue.
Shocked locals have told how a forensic tent has been erected on the street.
It is understood that specialist teams are probing the circumstances surrounding the man's death.
However police say that the death does not appear to be suspicious.
One eyewitness told Ayrshire Live how officers were positioned guarding Linfern Place near to a lane which adjoins on to Kincaidston.
An eyewitness said: "It's a real shock, there were officers standing at the front of Linfern Place with a blue road closed sign."
Another eyewitness added: "They have been here since early this morning and there is a forensic tent up."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers are currently in attendance at the sudden death of a man on Finlas Avenue, Ayr. Police were called to the incident on the street around 5.15 am on Friday, June 23, 2023.
“There would appear to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
