Cops have sealed off Ayr flats today amid reports of a serious incident taking place.
An officer has been spotted 'guarding' the scene to a property in Nursery Hall in the Whitletts area of the town.
Police have confirmed they raced out to the address around 10.15am this morning. They remain on the scene.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland was unable to confirm the nature of the incident.
But an eyewitness has told Ayrshire Live that police have sealed off the entrance to the block of flats with an officer standing guard outside.
An eyewitness said: "It looks really serious, police arrived earlier this morning and they are still there.
"There is a police officer standing guard at the front of the flats."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.15am on Monday, March 27, police were called to a flat in Nursery Hall, Ayr. Officers are currently at the scene.”
