A sandwich shop in Wallsend was targeted by a gang of thieves who stole a till from the premises.
Three men are said to have entered the Subway shop in Battle Hill where they made threats to the workers before making off with the entire till - containing around £250 in cash.
The trio fled the scene, which was later cordoned off as officers from Northumbria Police launched an investigation.

We understand from a source that there was a “heavy police presence” in the area, while photographs from the scene show the entrance to Subway cordoned off while an officer keeps watch.
