Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the death of a woman in Shepparton, in northeast Victoria.
Emergency services responded to reports of a woman with serious injuries at an address on McCubbin Drive about 6.10pm on Saturday.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said a 28-year-old Shepparton man was assisting with their inquiries.
Police have declared a crime scene and are working to establish the exact circumstances of the incident.
