Police launch appeal after prowler spotted in Wishaw gardens at midnight

Police are appealing for information following reports of a suspicious man was spotted in the gardens of a residential street in Wishaw.

Officers are investigating a report of a suspicious person on Greenfield Street in Cambusnethan.

It has been reported that a man described as white, 5ft 6in tall, with dark/grey hair, heavily built and wearing dark clothing and carrying a rucksack was witnessed on Greenfield Street at midnight last night and was moving in and out of gardens before attempting to hide in a shed.

Police attended with the assistance of a dog unit and recovered a rucksack, bottles of alcohol, clothing and a large kitchen knife.

Enquiries are ongoing to track down and speak with the man involved.
