Police launch appeal after man is seriously assaulted in Lanarkshire town

Police are appealing for information after a man was seriously assaulted in Airdrie.

Around 12.30am on Sunday, February 12, a 38-year-old man was assaulted by three men who forced their way into his home address in Rosebank Street, Airdrie.

Emergency services attended and the man was taken to University Hospital Monklands. He has since been released.

Officers have been reviewing CCTV footage and have carried out door-to-door enquiries.

Enquiries have established a white Range Rover Sport, with black alloys and a silver kick plate, was seen driving off from that area. Officers are keen to trace this vehicle and the occupants.

Detective Constable Lisa McMullen said: “This does appear to be a targeted attack which is being thoroughly investigated to identify those responsible.

"I would appeal to members of the public with any information to contact us.

“I would also ask anyone with dash-cams or other recording devices, to check their footage as it could assist in our investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0193 of Sunday, 12 February, 2023. Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.”
