Police launch appeal after cars set on fire at home in Ayr

Police have launched an appeal for information after two cars were torched outside an Ayr house in the early hours of this morning.

Officers were called to Lewis Gardens at around 2am following a report of two vehicles alight.

The blaze was extinguished by fire crews with no reports of any injuries.

Police say the suspects are described as two men, believed to be in their 20s, who left in the direction of Dunure Road.

Detective Constable Stuart McCulloch said: “Thankfully no-one was injured as a result of this incident, although two vehicles were extensively damaged and a property sustained external damage.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information which may assist us to get in touch.

“I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time to check dashcam footage and contact us.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 0712 of 28 August, 2022.
