A driver remains in hospital in a critical condition after a three-car crash in Bolton.
The smash happened on Halliwell Road at around 9pm on Saturday night (January 28). Emergency services including police officers, paramedics and firefighters rushed to the scene and a cordon was put in place.
Police previously said the believe a car heading north on Halliwell Road, towards Moss Bank Way, slammed into another vehicle turning onto Halliwell Road before hitting another unoccupied vehicle. The driver of one of the vehicles was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

In an update issued this morning (Monday), a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson confirmed the person is still fighting for their life in hospital. One man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving after the crash.
He has been released on bail, the force spokesperson said. A second person who was detained in connection with the smash has also been released on bail.
An investigation is ongoing by GMP's Serious Collision Unit. Any witnesses - or anyone who has footage of the incident - is being urged to come forward.
