A man who was arrested after three people were injured following a stabbing in Tameside has been released from custody, police have confirmed.
Officers were called to Yew Tree Road in Denton last Saturday (March 18) after reports of a 'disturbance' at a flat. A neighbour said the disturbance happened at a 'party that got out of hand'.
Another said they heard shouting before seeing someone 'covered in blood'. One woman was taken to hospital from the scene with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
Two other people 'presented' at hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries. In an update issued today (March 23), a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said a 20-year-old man was arrested in connection with the suspected stabbing.
He has since been released from police custody. Officers previously said the incident was being treated as 'isolated' but that patrols would be stepped up in the local area.
Detective Sergeant Pete Goddard of GMP Tameside district said previously: "If you have any questions or concerns, please speak to one of our officers, they are here to help. GMP are taking a robust approach to knife crime in the Greater Manchester area, and this is no exception.
"I would encourage anyone with information that may help officers in their initial investigation to get in touch with GMP by calling 0161 856 9262 or 101 quoting log 1077 of 18/3/2023 Alternatively, you can report information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
