Police issue appeal to track down Dumfries man who may have taken bus to Glasgow

Police officers in Dumfries have issued an appeal for information in a bid to track down a missing man who is believed to have left town on a bus heading to Glasgow.

Paul Cullen was last seen at Whitesands in the Borders market town at around 12.40pm on Tuesday July 19. Officers are concerned about the welfare of the man, whose age has not been released.

Nithsdale cops have issued an image of Paul as part of their appeal. The picture shows he is white with long, dark hair and a thick dark beard. He also wears glasses.

Those tasked with investigating his disappearance believe he may have boarded a bus to Glasgow - and have urged passengers who may have been travelling on a bus this week to think back on whether they may have inadvertently seen him.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police in Dumfries are looking to establish the current whereabouts of Paul Cullen. Paul was last seen in the area of Whitesands Dumfries about 1240 hours on the afternoon of Tuesday 19 July 2022.

"Initial enquiries would suggest that he may have boarded a bus to Glasgow. Were you on this bus and can you recall seeing Paul?

"If you have any information about the whereabouts of Paul can you contact Police Scotland on 101 providing reference number 3576 of the 19th July 2022."
