Police are appealing for information following a suspicious fire in Whitburn earlier this week.
Around 8pm on Tuesday, police were made aware of a fire at the rear of a property in Gleneagles Court in Whitburn.
A number of conifer trees were on fire. Early indications are the fire was started deliberately.
No-one was injured in the incident but a substantial amount of damage has been done.
Officers are checking any relevant CCTV footage for any additional information.
Detective Constable Emma Thacker said: “This fire could easily have spread to the house, thankfully, no-one has been injured but it’s imperative we find whoever is responsible for setting the fire.
“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to think back and consider if they noticed anything which seemed a little odd or suspicious.
“Any small piece of information could prove vital so please do pass it on.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3976 of 7 June 2022. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.
