Police investigation underway after man dies outside Taree hospital

A man was unable to be revived after being driven to Taree hospital with serious injuries. (ABC News: Che Chorley)

A police investigation is underway after a 38-year-old man died outside a hospital on the NSW mid north coast.

Police said the man was driven to the Manning Base Hospital in Taree just before 8:00am on Sunday, after suffering serious injuries.

They said the man was assessed at the scene but could not be revived.

Police believe the man was injured at an address on Heath Avenue in nearby Tuncurry, before being driven to the hospital by a family member.

The death is being treated as suspicious.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

State Crime Command Homicide Squad detectives are assisting with the investigation.
