Police in London are to investigate claims of parties in the Prime Minister’s Downing Street flat during lockdown.
The update provided by Sue Gray revealed that officers from the Met are investigating all but four of the 16 events she has uncovered in her investigation.
In her report she confirmed that the police are investigating all but four of the events, leaving the Prime Minister under investigation for multiple breaches of his own covid laws
Of the 12 alleged gatherings of 16 being investigated by the Met one is said to have taken place in Johnson’s flat, one he attended in the garden, and one which was to celebrate his birthday.
Gray wrote that the Metropolitan Police has confirmed "that as a result of information provided by the Cabinet Office investigation team, as well as assessments made by Metropolitan Police officers" they are investigating 12 of the 16 lockdown events for breaches of the law.
The exceptions are of the gatherings in the Downing St Garden on May 15th 2020, the online Christmas quiz at Downing Street, a Christmas event at the Department of Education and a leaving event on December 15 for a special adviser.
