Police investigating disturbance find woman dead in block of flats in Elephant and Castle

A woman has been found dead after reports of “a disturbance” in a plush block of luxury flats in Elephant and Castle.

Police rushed to the scene to find a woman dying from serious injuries in flats above a supermarket in Elephant Road at 4pm on Thursday.

She was pronounced dead by paramedics a short time later.

Police have not released any more details on the victim’s injuries or whether she has been formally identified.

Pictures from the scene show forensic vans parked outside Raglan House by flats above a Sainsbury’s.

A Met spokeswoman said: “Police were called to a block of flats on Elephant Road, SE17 following reports of a disturbance at the location.

“A woman-no further details- was found with serious injuries.

“Despite the efforts of emergency services she was pronounced dead at the scene.

“A large number of officers remain at the location as enquiries continue.

“A crime scene is in place and enquiries are ongoing.”

No arrests have been made.
