Officers from Leicestershire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are carrying out an investigation into the collision, working alongside the Motorcycle Circuit Racing Control Board and MotorSport Vision Racing. Rouse's family is also being supported during this difficult time by Durham Constabulary.

As part of the investigation, Leicestershire Police wants to trace anyone who was at the event on Sunday and witnessed the incident or who had any video footage on their mobile phone. PC Adam Wilson, from the SCIU, said: “Our investigation is still in the early stages but I would urge anyone who witnessed the collision to contact us.
