Queensland police are treating the death of a 69-year-old woman in the Pioneer Valley, west of Mackay, as suspicious.
Detectives say the woman was struck by a vehicle at about 6pm on Monday.
The woman, who is believed to be a Finch Hatton local, died at the scene.
A 37-year-old Mackay man is assisting police with investigations.
A Queensland police spokesperson said consistent rain has hampered the investigation so far, but inquiries will continue at daylight.
