Police in Cardiff are investigating reports of a "serious sexual assault". Officers were called to the Pontcanna area of the city in the early hours of Monday morning.
A lane that runs parallel to Hamilton Street and Talbot Street has been cordoned off by police as investigations are carried out at the scene.
South Wales Police has said that enquiries are "ongoing". A police officer is standing guard at the lane which continued to be cordoned off on Monday afternoon.
A statement from the force said: "South Wales Police is investigating a serious sexual assault which was reported during the early hours of this morning.
"A lane running parallel with Hamilton Street and Talbot Street in Pontcanna, Cardff, has been cordoned off and inquiries are ongoing."
