A teenage boy was assaulted at Sam Fender's first St James' Park gig, it has been reported. The Chronicle understands police were alerted to the incident by a third party.
And officers are urging those involved to get in touch. A Northumbria Police spokeswoman said: "We are aware of a report of assault at St James’ Park in Newcastle on Friday, June 9. Anyone with information, or the parties involved, should contact police."
The victim of the assault is thought to be 16 years old, it is understood. Thousands of fans flocked to Newcastle city centre on Friday and Saturday night to be part of the North Shields-born Sam's epic homecoming.

Tickets for the shows on Friday and Saturday night were snapped up immediately when they went on sale last Autumn.
But despite the streets and bars of Newcastle being packed with thousands of Sam's fans before and after the gigs, both nights passed without major trouble.
Northumbria Police made three arrests related to the concerts.
On Friday one person was held on suspicion of drunk and disorderly behaviour., while on Saturday, there were two arrests relating to criminal damage.
