Police investigate death of a second woman in Sydney over the Easter long weekend

NSW Police are investigating the death of another Sydney woman this Easter long weekend, after discovering a body in the city's west.

Officers were called to an address on Newman Street near Military Road in Merrylands around 11:30pm on Sunday after concerns were raised for her welfare.

A woman's body was found and is yet to be formally identified, however she is believed to be the 42-year-old resident of the unit.

A 38-year-old man was spoken to at the scene before being taken to Granville Police Station, where he is helping to police with their enquiries.

No charges have been laid.

It follows the stabbing death of a woman at Mascot in Sydney's south also on Easter Sunday.
