Police say human remains have been discovered in woodland in Swansea.

The discovery was made in the Mumbles area - a police investigation is said to be 'ongoing'

A statement from Detective Chief Inspector Matt Davies said inquiries are ongoing and there’s no need for public concern.

He said police had received reports at around 1.20pm on Thursday (April 6) that human remains had been found in woodland behind Waverley Drive, Mumbles.

The statement added that inquiries were ongoing at the location, but there was "no need for public concern".

Further information is expected later today.
