Police inform family of missing Lanarkshire woman after body found

Police have informed the family of missing Lanarkshire woman, Karen Stevenson, after a body was found.

Officers discovered the body of a woman was found in the Glenboig Road area of Glasgow on Sunday morning.

Formal identification has yet to take place, but Karen’s family have been told.

The 42-year-old was initially last spotted in the early hours of Saturday, February 19, when she left her home on Lairds Hill in Seafar sometime after midnight.

Friends of the missing Cumbernauld woman had organised a second search for the mum-of-two due to take place in the early hours of this morning.

Enquiries into the death are at an early stage.

It is currently being treated as unexplained but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

Anyone with relevant information is asked to call the police on 101, using the reference no. 3369 of Saturday, February 19, 2022.
