Police 'increasingly concerned' for girl, 16, last seen in Greater Manchester three weeks ago

Police have issued an urgent appeal for help finding a missing teenager who was last seen in Greater Manchester three weeks ago. Officers say they are growing increasingly concerned for Yasmin Fernandes.

The 16-year-old was last seen in Greater Manchester but police believe she may have since travelled to the North East by train. Cleveland Police believes she could be in the Redcar or Cleveland areas, although she possibly has links to Newcastle.

Yasmin is described as around 5ft 7ins tall and of medium build. Cleveland Police has released a photo of Yasmin today (March 7) along with an appeal to find her.

Anyone who sees Yasmin or has any information on her whereabouts is urged to contact Cleveland Police as soon as possible. Superintendent Glen Ward, of Cleveland Police, said: “Our concern for Yasmin is growing with passing time and we would appeal to the public for their help in calling us with any sightings or if anyone believes they know where she is.

“We believe Yasmin may have travelled to Cleveland by train, so please keep an eye out on any public transport for Yasmin and call us on 101 with any information.” Anyone with information about Yasmin's disappearance should call Cleveland Police on 101, quoting incident number 039497.
