Police incident closes main road, 'Scouse Kev' drug dealer and motorway closures

Live updates police close Croxteth Hall Lane in both directions

A road has been closed due to a 'police incident' in Liverpool.

Merseyside police have cordoned off Croxteth Hall Lane to deal with an incident. The stretch of road is closed in both directions between the junctions for Oak Lane and Carr Lane East.

The road has been blocked by emergency services since the early hours of this morning, on Monday, March 21, at around midnight. Officers are currently at the scene and have asked drivers to avoid the area and find alternative routes.

Police are yet to confirm the nature of the incident.

'Scouse Kev' mobile number used to sell heroin and cocaine

Two Liverpool drug dealers used a mobile number known as the "Scouse Kev" line to sell heroin and crack cocaine.

Adam Lomax, from Huyton, and Reece Jimoh, from Liverpool, were caught with more than 800 heroin and crack cocaine deals ready to be supplied to users on the street after police tracked them down in Swansea. They were arrested by officers investigating a Merseyside organised crime group that was operating a drugs supply operation in the city known as the "Scouse Kev" line.

Kevin Jones, prosecuting, told Swansea Crown Court officers were in the Townhill area of Swansea on January 14 this year when they became suspicious of a man carrying a package who was constantly checking his mobile phone and looking over his shoulder, Wales Online reports.

The officers moved in and searched the suspect, Adam Lomax, 27, from Huyton, and found he was carrying 32 heroin deals and 34 crack cocaine deals. The house where Lomax had been staying on Elphin Gardens was searched but nothing was found.

M6, M53, M56, M57, M58 to close with drivers warned of delays

Drivers travelling on the M6, M53, M56, M57 and M58 have been warned to expect delays as a number of motorways will be partially closed this week.

The motorways will be partially closed for essential roadworks and National Highways has warned drivers to be aware. This week (March 21 to March 27) will see the M56 closed every night this week.

National Highways also have pending major roadworks in place on the M53 northbound for barrier repairs. The company has not confirmed which junctions will be closed yet.

Today closures include the M53 southbound between J3 and J5, the M57 southbound between J3 and J4 and the M6 southbound between J22 and J26.
