Police in Lanarkshire seek information after kids hospitalised in three vehicle road smash

Lanarkshire police have appealed for information after a horror three vehicle road smash saw two children taken to hospital.

The accident occured last Friday, October 7, and cops have now said they are looking for any witnesses to the Rutherglen incident to come forward.

Around 1 pm, a Kia Venga, a Toyota Yaris and a Skoda Citigo were involved in a collision on Spittal Road at its junction with Alloway Drive in Rutherglen.

Two children from the Toyota Yaris were taken to the Royal Hospital for Children as a precaution while the male driver of the Kia Venga was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Sergeant Laura Thomson is appealing for witnesses, telling Lanarkshire Live : "We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash and to also view any dash-cam footage from motorists in the area at the time.

"If you have any information you believe may assist officers with their inquiry, please call police via 101."

Information can also be left anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
