Police in Lanarkshire launch investigation after van deliberately torched

Police in Coatbridge are appealing for help after a van was deliberately torched.

The incident happened around 12.05am, on Friday night (April 22).

Officers say the van was set alight on High Burnside Court with witnesses describing a suspect at the scene.

DC Craig McLean told Lanarkshire Live: “The suspect runs along High Burnside Avenue towards Burnside Walk, and turns right towards Kirkwood Street, before going out of sight.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who has CCTV footage or dash-cam footage from the area to get in touch.”

Investigating officers want to talk to a man described as white, of average build, who was wearing a black hooded top, black tracksuit bottoms and grey beanie hat - he is also believed to have on light coloured trainers.

Anyone with any information in relation to the incident should contact police on 101.

Information can be left anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
