Police in Lanarkshire hunt for man after car deliberately set on fire in street

Police are on the hunt for a man after a car was deliberately torched in a Lanarkshire street.

Officers are treating the incident in Coatbridge as "wilful fire-raising".

At around 7.30pm on Tuesday, January 31, police received a report of a vehicle on fire in the town's Southfield Crescent.

Enquiries carried out so far have established a man was seen running from the location just after the fire.

A police spokesperson told Lanarkshire Live : "The suspect is around 5ft, 10 inches in height, with a slim build and wearing dark coloured clothing.

"They headed off in the direction of Sikeside Street. They were wearing black coloured clothing.

"Officers are continuing to check CCTV footage for any additional information relating to the incident.

"If anyone has any information, please call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3106 of January 31.

"Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where you can give information anonymously."
