Cops are hunting a man after a West Lothian petrol station was targeted in an early morning robbery. Emergency services were called to a fuel station on Falkirk Road, Linlithgow, at around 1.45 am on Thursday, 2 February, following reports that a man armed with an imitation BB gun had threatened a member of staff.
The suspect made off with a small sum of cash, scratch cards and cigarettes. Officers have said it is 'fortunate' no one was injured during the raid.
Police Scotland are now asking for the public's help in tracing the 35-year-old man. He is described as being 6 ft and of stocky build.
He was last seen wearing a navy jacket with a white stripe across the chest area and green shoulders. Officers have so far found the imitation BB gun and the jacket which were discarded nearby.
Emma Thacker, of Livingston CID, said: “Fortunately no one was injured and extensive enquiries are being carried out to trace this man, including reviewing CCTV. “We are asking anyone who saw this man, or anyone acting suspiciously around the time of this incident to get in touch. “In particular, if you were driving in the area and have any dash-cam that could assist then contact us. Likewise, if you have private CCTV that could help identify the suspect or where he went.”
Anyone with information that can help with the investigation is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1163 of Thursday, 2 February, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
