Police hunting ‘Liverpool fans’ over Tube train racist attack on Asian men after Wembley loss

Detectives are investigating a racist attack where two Asian men were headbutted by suspected Liverpool thugs after their team’s Carabao Cup final defeat at Wembley.

British Transport Police said it happened after the victims were subjected to disgraceful slurs on board a Metropolitan line Tube train at around 6.40pm on Sunday, March 16.

They released CCTV images of nine men on the Wembley Park and Northwood Hill service who may have vital information.

Underdogs Newcastle United beat the Premier League leaders 2-1 to take their first domestic silverware in 70 years back to the North East.

A force spokesman said: “Do you recognise these men?

“A group of nine individuals, believed to be Liverpool Football Club supporters, were involved in a serious incident in which two Asian men were headbutted, subjected to racist slurs, and verbally abused.

“Officers believe the men in these images may have information that could help their investigation.”
