Police hunting for third vehicle in Ayrshire horror crash that killed mum

Police are looking for a third driver who may hold crucial information on an Ayrshire crash that killed a mum.

Shona McKinlay, 46, was pronounced dead at the scene of the A70 smash between her Renault Kangoo van and a blue Audi TT car just before 6am on Friday, October 28 near the Holmston roundabout.

Police are now looking to speak to the driver of a white van who may have seen the Audi before the crash.

Cops say extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the crash remain ongoing.

Sergeant Stewart Taylor, of the Road Policing Unit in Irvine, said: “We are keen to hear from any motorists who were on the A70 between Ayr and Coylton that morning and may have seen the vehicles involved, or has potential dashcam footage from the area still recorded.

“We are also looking to speak to the driver of a white van, who may have been nearby and seen the Audi shortly before the incident.

“Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact officers through 101 with reference 0471 of 28 October."
