Police are hunting for a man after a car was set on fire in Coatbridge during the early hours of the morning.
The incident is being treating as "wilful fireraising" but fortunately no-one suffered any injuries.
Officers responded at around 3am this morning, June 7, following the report of a car on fire at an address in the town's Roseburn Cottages.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended and extinguished the blaze safely.
Police describe the suspect as a white man, between 5ft 2in and 5ft 5in tall, and of a stocky build, and at the time of the incident, he was wearing a grey tracksuit.
Detective Constable Lisa McMullen, of Lanarkshire CID, told Lanarkshire Live : “Thankfully, nobody has been injured as a result of this incident.
“Although this happened in the early hours of the morning, we would appeal to anyone who has any information surrounding the fire to come forward and speak to police.
“I would also ask if you notice anyone matching this description or acting suspicious in the area that you get in touch with officers.”
