Detectives are on the hunt for a teenager after a boy was pushed from an electric scooter before it was stolen in a daytime robbery in Croydon.
Metropolitan Police have released an image of a teenager they wish to speak to following the violent e-scooter theft on St Saviours Road at roughly 1.45pm on Tuesday May 2.
A boy, aged 15, was on his way to a fast food restaurant when two men in their late teens approached him and asked if he had seen one of the suspects’ bike.
The victim said that he hadn’t, but the two men said they would use the e-scooter that the victim was riding to find it.
The men then pushed the boy off the e-scooter and onto the ground, and then rode off on the stolen vehicle.
Officers have been following enquiries and are now appealing to the public for information, the Met said in an update on Tuesday.
DC Ian Croxford who is leading the investigation said: “I would urge anyone who recognises the person in this image to come forward and speak to police.
“We have made good progress with this investigation but need the public’s help to progress this.
“This incident happened in broad daylight and people would have witnessed what went on – if you can help, please get in contact.”
