Police hunt real life Bart Simpson who smashed bus window with a slingshot at Dalkeith Tesco

Police in Midlothian are looking for a troublemaking youth who smashed a bus window with what's believed to be a slingshot.

Cops put out a statement today saying: "officers in Midlothian are appealing for information in relation to the vandalism of a Lothian Bus at Tesco, Dalkeith on Wednesday 30th September 2020.

"Around 1.10pm a Lothian Bus was at Tesco, Hardengreen in Dalkeith when one of the buses windows was struck with something causing it to shatter.

"The suspect is described as a young male wearing a black hoodie and black jogging bottoms and was seen to hit the window with something using a slingshot.

"Anyone with any information should contact police on 101, quoting incident 1493 of 30th September 2020. Alternatively, anyone wishing to report their information anonymously can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

Slingshots are not considered weapons under UK law, but carrying a slingshot may be punished under the "Prevention of Crime Act 1953".

Bows and crossbows are legal to purchase, manufacture and possess for private use in one's home but their transport is subject to the same regulations as that of live firearms.
