A man repeatedly sexually assaulted a woman on a London Underground train between West Ham and Stratford, the British Transport Police has said.
The force has released images of a man they are wishing to speak to in connection after the incident on Monday, January 15, at around 8.40pm.
The BTP said the man boarded at West Ham on the Jubilee line and saw the woman who was already on the train. He then “sexually assaulted her repeatedly”.
The journey to Stratford Underground station is only one stop and lasts for only a few minutes.
“Officers believe the man in the CCTV images may have information that could help their investigation,” the British Transport Police said in a statement on Friday.
The man is possibly of south Asian heritage. He has short brown hair, a short beard and is shown wearing a black puff jacket with white trousers and white trainers.
Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 566 of 15/01/2024.
Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
West Ham and Stratford are also both on the DLR but the images released show what looks to be a Tube interior.
