Police hunt man who hurled antisemitic abuse at man at Liverpool Street station

The man police want to speak to in connection with antisemitic abuse at Liverpool Street station - (BTP)

Police want to speak to this man after an Elizabeth Line passenger was subjected to antisemitic abuse and assaulted at Liverpool Street.

The victim was subjected to anti-Jewish abuse while waiting on the Elizabeth Line platforms at the busy station at around 11.30pm on October 4.

When he walked away, the man continued to shout racist abuse before assaulting him.

Officers with the British Transport Police on Thursday said they were treating it as a racially aggravated assault.

Releasing a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident, they urged anyone who recognised him to make contact.

Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting 6 of 5 October 2024.

Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
