Police hunt man in fishing gear after serious assault near River Kelvin in Glasgow

Police are hunting for a man in fishing gear following a serious assault near the River Kelvin.

Officers are trying to trace him in connection with the attack, which left a man scarred and saw him rushed to hospital.

The victim was set upon close to the River Kelvin, behind Garscube Sports Complex in north Glasgow, at around 3pm Thursday, 28 April, 2022.

The man cops are hunting has been described as white, with a medium build, between 50 and 60 years old, 5ft 6ins tall, with slightly grey hair.

He was pictured wearing dark trousers, a white T-shirt, light-coloured fishing gilet and a light-coloured bucket hat at the time.

Detective Constable Rachel Fulton from Greater Glasgow CID, said: “I am urging the man in this image, or anyone who has information regarding his identity, to please contact police.

“Enquiries to trace the person responsible for this attack are ongoing and we continue to appeal for help from the public."

Officers can be contacted via 101, quoting reference number 1946 of Thursday, 28 April, 2022.
