Police hunt man after suspected attempted kidnap of 16-year-old girl in south-east London

Police have released an image of a man they want to trace following the suspected attempted kidnap of a 16-year-old girl in south-east London.

The teenager was near Upton Road in Blexley at around 10.30pm on June 25 when she was approached from behind by an unknown man, Scotland Yard said.

Without warning he grabbed hold of her, police added.

The victim screamed and the suspect made off on foot towards the Broadway in Bexleyheath.

The girl was left "incredibly shaken by this frightening incident," police added.

Detectives have now released an image of a man they would like to speak to.

The suspect is a described as a white male, wearing black bottoms, a beige jumper, with a face mask pulled down to his chin.

Detective Constable Tristan Hunter, investigating, said: “Though the victim was not physically injured, she was left incredibly shaken by this frightening incident.

“I urge anyone who may recognise this man to contact us immediately.”
